My wildlife photography has been featured in local and statewide papers and calendars for the last several years. For the last year I have been working on building a profile in Capture Minnesota. I am happy to report my second Photo of the Day Award - http://www.captureminnesota.com/photos/2024206

I'll be showing my framed work at the Minnesota Discovery Center in Chisholm, Minnesota March 12, 2016. The show runs from 10am to 4pm. My husband Paul makes the frames for me out of reclaimed wood and glass. This show I will be featuring landscapes and wildlife images taken in Northern Minnesota. If you are out and about stop in.
]]>The holidays are right around the corner and what better time to take family photos. Here's a few quick tips to help capture lasting memories.
Let your family come together naturally, joking around a little before the shot gets rid of the tight smiles and helps everyone relax. No need to say cheese as everyone will already be smiling.
During formal shots remind family members if they can't see the camera then the camera can't see them.
Photographing a large family it is helpful to bring in lamps from a different room so everyone is lighted evenly bringing balance to the image. Check to be sure that the bulbs have the same "color temperature" (soft white, incandescent (yellow cast), etc). This of course requires a little advance planning but it will be worth it to have a special keepsake.
Stepping away from the action and using your cameras zoom feature will help you achieve great cameo shots.
Remember to give your camera to a family member so you have images of yourself and enjoy the time with family.
